Meloplication Paper in Publication

Dr. Boxrud has recently finished a paper titled "Closed Meloplication Percutaneous Cable Suture Technique". It looks at the signs of early aging and how effectively the meloplication procedure can combat this, emphasising the fact that it is a safe and minimally invasive technique with a short recovery time. She reviews 55 cases in which the closed meloplication percutaneous cable suture technique was performed and discusses the success rate. If you have any more questions regarding this technique or any other procedures, please call our office om (310) 829-9060.

Vitamin Injections

There are intrinsic and extrinsic processes of aging. There is very little we can do about the intrinsic process of aging because it is a cell programmed chronological genetic process fixed in our DNA. We can, however, do something to battle the extrinsic process of aging, or photoageing, which can be affected by environmental factors such as long term exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV) and chemical pollutants

UV radiation extrinsic or external factors penetrate into the dermis causing free radical production at the mitochondria and ultimately cause oxidative damage to cells. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals and are now routinely used in skin care to reduce the damage done to the skin. These antioxidants are found naturally in carotenoids, tocopherol (vitamin E), and ascorbic acid (vitamin C).

In aging skin, naturally occurring antioxidants are in short supply. Adding antioxidant-rich vitamins into different layers of the skin via microinjections is now considered a great way to stabilise and even reverse some of the extrinsic processes of ageing.

Dr. Boxrud has had a great deal of success using these types of vitamin injections. If you have any questions please phone our office.
